Who Knows Where The Time Goes?

It is nine years, almost to the day, since I last posted anything on this blog. I found the (long forgotten) log in details in an old notebook, and spent a while re-reading the posts. What struck me, apart from a slight queasiness at reading my own words after quite a long break, was how things had not changed very much. At least not for the better. Many of the topics covered still resonate, still irk me, are still to be addressed. A fair few things have got markedly worse. Some things have improved or moved on - I'm looking at you Bradford Live. In 2013, we were blissfully unaware of what would happen in three short years. Trump and Brexit were yet to lumber into view, wilfully wrecking everything along the way. 2020 was way off in the distance, the future setting of a speculative piece of theatre. When the company I was part of were devising the play, no-one had deadly pandemic, lockdowns and economic catastrophe on their list of possible scenarios. A cost of living crisis? Looking back over these entries has been interesting and, with so much having happened in the last decade, I think I'll fire up the old ire and write some more. If anyone out there reads any of this; thank you.
